THE STORY OF US

It was a balmy night in San Francisco in 2011 and Taylor was helping prep for a party at one of his best friends’ houses. That friend was inviting someone who was new to the city, a guy who had just moved from Nebraska. Taylor and the rest of his friends were under strict orders to “not try to date him” to prevent scaring him away.

AFTER WOOING JIM WITH STORIES OF CAT LITTER CONSUMER TESTING, TAYLOR TOLD HIS FRIEND MICHAEL THAT HE’S NOT GOING TO GO FOR IT, BUT IF JIM DOES HE’LL GLADLY ACCEPT

JIM DID INDEED go for it and the two played tennis and had little star pizza before having 5 other dates that week. the rest is history.

OUR FAVORITE PLACES

OUR FAVORITE PLACES

San francisco

We spent 3 years frolicking in the Bay Area and getting to know each other. Taylor was living in the Castro, Jimmy in Nob Hill then Glen Park. We went to a lot of concerts and spent a lot of time with friends.

LOS ANGELES

Jim went remote, Tay started at SpaceX, and we found a new, beachy lifestyle in Venice, California and fell in love with Los Angeles. After a brief stint away we moved back and bought our first home. We spend a lot of time exploring little pockets of LA, playing games with friends, and—tbh—playing a ton of co-op Super Smash Brothers online on the Nintendo Switch.

KANSAS CITY & CEDAR RAPIDS

We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention our home towns. Little did we know that we grew up 5 hours apart in the heart of the Midwest. We love going back home and seeing what’s new, joking about how maybe we should move there (we won’t).

MINNEAPOLIS

And then there’s Minneapolis, where we spent a heavenly summer while Tay interned at Target. We always look fondly on those gorgeous three months, galavanting around the twin cities with new friends and taste testing as many breweries as we could.

BOSTON

We took a break from sunny LA to spend two years living the East Coast lifestyle in Boston, Massachusetts while Tay went to Harvard Business School. Aside from making lifelong friends and spending way too many weeknights out in the city, we loved taking trips up the coast to Maine and eating Oysters in Harvard Square.

SAN LUIS OBISPO

Our favorite getaway from LA is to head up to Central Coast wine country, San Luis Obispo (SLO) in particular. We’ve joined a few wineries over the years, but you can catch us driving with a trunk full of wine in a Mini Cooper many times throughout the year.
